Maggie click on thumbnail for larger photo Maggie was diagnosed at age 11 with advanced spondylosis. The once active golden retriever had become so debilitated that her mom, Pam Strickland, sought alternative treatments in order to try to improve her quality of life. After losing 20 pounds and beginning acupuncture, chiropractic and holistic care through Dr. DiNatale, Maggie began to improve; however, something was still missing. That's when Pam discovered Hip Dog. Two years later at age 13, Maggie is a leaping pupperfish!* (*A nickname given to her by her favorite therapist, Tom Nowicki) She was featured on the cover of Animal Wellness Magazine in Spring 2003 after Pam and Barbara Rainey submitted a picture of her leaping into the pool. The editors were so impressed with the photo, but more importantly her miraculous turn around, that they wanted to do a story....and so they did! Pam says it's hard to believe that the same mild mannered dog at home is the "Psycho Pool Dog" at Hip Dog. Maggie comes to life.....she lives to run and dive and steal toys from Tom. She loves life...she loves Hip Dog and it certainly loves her! Pam was quoted in Animal Wellness as saying "Were it not for the combination of holistic and traditional care and Maggie's beloved swim therapy, there is no doubt in my mind that my best friend would not be with me today." Thank you, Hip Dog! Click here for Maggie's story in Animal Wellness Magazine. |
